Tritons quarterback Chase Rettig landed another scholarship offer--this time from Tennessee. ESPN Rise blogger Greg Biggins filed the report below:

San Clemente (Calif.) quarterback Chase Rettig was patiently waiting for Lakewood (Calif.) signal caller Jesse Scroggins to make his decision in hopes of landing an offer from one of his two favorite schools -- USC or Tennessee. Scroggins has yet to make his call, but Rettig still picked up an offer from one of the two this morning.
"Tennessee just offered this morning," Rettig said. "I was pretty excited because I loved my time at their camp and the SEC is big time football. The timing is crazy because I was actually thinking about committing to Boston College today and then I got an email from one of the coaches to call coach (Lane) Kiffin and when I did, he told me they were offering.
"I still like BC a lot and I think that's a great opportunity for me. That's a great academic school and I know I could get in there and compete early for playing time. I like the coaches a lot and the school has produced a lot of NFL quarterbacks in the past, so this is going to be a really tough decision for me."
Rettig said he would like to decide fairly quickly, but won't rush his decision.
"I'm not the kind of guy who is going to commit and then de-commit later," Rettig said. "I want to be 100 percent sure of my decision, so I'm just going to sit back and think this over and look for the best overall fit for me.
"Right now, I like BC a lot but I'm going to research Tennessee and then compare the two together. They're both great schools and I think both offer a lot and it feels great just to have these options. Things have been going well for me lately with getting asked to play in the Under Armour All-American game and now with these recent offers. I know I can't go wrong either way, so we'll see what happens."
